Paula Martin Announces Retirement from Sevier County – Balloon Festival In Trouble?

At this week’s Salina Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon Paula Martin announced her early retirement from Sevier County. Paula announced that she has other plans in store for her family in the future. Paula and her husband Paul have plans to start a new business but did not disclose any details about the future endeavor. We look forward to see what is in store for them.

With Paula’s announcement she added that she would no longer be able to organize the Eyes to the Sky Balloon Festival through Sevier County. Her hope is that the city of Salina and Salina residents would pull together to make the Balloon Festival a huge success and continue it’s growth for years to come. Funds are in place for the Balloon Festival this year and there are already 26 balloon pilots signed up for June 17-19. County officials stated that the balloon festival was “Salina’s to lose.”

Paula will continue to organize the Blast From the Past Car Show on a volunteer basis. This event will take place on July 29 -30, 2016.
